Venicia Guinot, Chief Editor at TROPICS MAGAZINE, Named “Best Social Development & Media Entrepreneur of the Year” at BRAAD Awards® 2019 in London

Venicia Guinot was honored in the “Best Social Development & Media Entrepreneur of the Year” category at the 2019 BRITISH AWARD FOR AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT (BRAAD) Awards in recognition of her excellence, tenacity and continued prosperity.

London, UK – November 01, 2019 –   TROPICS MAGAZINE (www.tropicsmag.com), the leading bilingual (English and French) and global business, fashion and lifestyle magazine from Africa, today announced that Chief Editor and CEO, Venicia Guinot, received the BRAAD Award® 2019 in the Best Social Development & Media Entrepreneur of the Year category.

The African Disruptive Technology Conference, held in London, from 23-24 October 2019, aimed to highlight the impact of technological advancement in the socio-economic sectors in Africa and its Diaspora. The event brought together leading minds in the technological and business fields to discuss, explore and highlight the significance of revolutionising the African business ecosystem and socio-economic sectors through disruptive technology.

The event took place in three stages, starting with a Parliamentary Lecture at the UK Houses of Parliament on Wednesday 23rd October 2019. This was followed by the main Conference, which took place at the Sheraton Grand Mayfair Hotel, London on Thursday 24th October 2019. The Conference concluded with the 2019 BRAAD Awards Ceremony on the evening.

With the British Award for African Development (BRAAD) Awards announcement, Venicia Guinot bagged her sixth award as a Media Entrepreneur and leading African Business Leader. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the African Business Leader of the Year, the African Entrepreneur of the Year, the Best African Disruptive Technology of the Year, the Company of the Year, the Best Africa-oriented Investment Company of the Year, which were announced at a gala ceremony at the Sheraton Grand Mayfair Hotel, London.
